‘Blue Christmas’ Elvis Presley and Kane Brown Official Graceland Video
One of the biggest names in country music, Kane Brown, teamed up with an iconic entertainer for a memorable reimagining of a beloved Christmas tune, “Blue Christmas.”
Elvis Presley, having been dead for decades, is still a widely recognized figure. His voice is unmistakable, with many spotting an Elvis tune within the first couple of notes. Musicians still today attempt to replicate his iconic style and sound, but all fall far short each and every time. Elvis is a one-of-a-kind musician who has continued to impact the entertainment world years after his death. There will never be another Elvis Presley.
In a clip posted on YouTube, country music star Kane Brown sings with the King of Rock and Roll on an updated, more country-sounding version of “Blue Christmas.” It’s not a huge departure from the original classic Elvis tune about experiencing a less-than-ideal Christmas, but it’s still a noticeable change.
There are loops added throughout, giving the song a somewhat modern country music sound. Kane’s voice also helps to take this song in a much more country direction than the original.
While this is an updated take on the Elvis classic, die-hard fans of the original version aren’t likely to be too offended. The changes are not too dramatic and overwhelming. Ardent Elvis fans do not need to worry.
In addition to the slightly new and updated sound, the video for the duet goes in a different direction than likely expected by most. The video for the tune, referred to as the “Official Graceland Video,” features images of Elvis’ Tennessee mansion.
There are dozens of interior and exterior shots of the Memphis, Tennessee, house decorated for the Christmas holiday. The camera also lingers on several Christmas trees and rooms intricately decorated. The attention to detail on the trees and the room in which the trees sit is quite astounding.
Given the extent and the extravagance of the house’s Christmas decorations, it’s safe to say that Elvis was a big fan of the Christmas holiday and season.
Psalm 95:1: “O come, let us sing to the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.”
