I have gained weight. Phew! There… I said it.
I’m sharing this with you because I feel you can relate. Do you know what I mean when I say… “in my head it didn’t seem that bad until I saw myself in a full length mirror.” Yeah.
I finally realized it was time to break up with queso dip. And then some.
Sometimes we can slip into unhealthy habits without realizing it. Suddenly you’ve gained 10 pounds from stress eating and none of your cute clothes fit. It’s devastating and embarrassing.
True confession time… it’s been a difficult year and I’ve slipped on watching what I eat. Jon and I have gone through a roller-coaster of trials, challenges, pain, loss and struggle. My waistline is now a reflection of that. As a health and wellness advocate, I’m disappointed in myself.
Let’s be honest though… as women it’s almost normal for our weight to yo-yo through our 20′s and 30′s. But it’s not JUST about eating right, as I’ve discovered – especially as we get older. It’s also about getting off the couch and moving.
This is me… in attempt to take some accountability for mistakes I’ve made in regards to my personal health. Thankfully I have amazing friends in my life to help inspire me to get back on the road toward fitness. I’m hoping this gives you a little inspiration and to let you know that you aren’t alone in your struggle with weight. Really.
Some days are easier than others when it comes to pain though – which can effect my motivation to exercise. There are a lot of tricks for finding the motivation but unfortunately that doesn’t always work for me.
2 years ago, I started the Biggest Loser workout challenge and lost 10 pounds! It was amazing and my body felt great.
So why don’t I get off my butt and exercise if it seemed to help? There are days I can push myself and others that it’s just not possible. This is not an excuse, it’s a reality.
I’ve prayed. I’ve tried light workouts. I’ve done what I can. Sometimes the energy just isn’t there.
If you also suffer from Fibromyalgia, Endo, or other chronic pain issues… find the good days and run with them. Literally. The more we exercise, the more good days we will have.
Let us encourage each other. Let us strive to be healthy and happy in our endeavors.
Set a small goal first. Achieve it and set another goal.
We can do this! Who’s with me?
